Example of Toronto Neglect
Random stretches in Toronto have street equipment well past its expiration date. Another common problem is rusted tiny old street signs from before 1980 that make it tedious to find a side street to turn on. City of Toronto does nice replacement work, and they seem to be catching up downtown lately, but it has been neglected some years ago too. My city of Brampton beside Toronto would never let things become visibly past their expiration date, from the pavement to light arms!

If they had mounted that arm a little lower this likely wouldn't have happened, or at least it wouldn't happen for a longer amount of time.

Yeah Toronto never really bothered with all these upgrades and all unlike Mississauga and Brampton until recently . Most streetlight arms and poles in Etobicoke are original! You notice most signal replacements in Toronto/Etobicoke are all installed within the last 10 years or so. CGE's went from plentyful to very rare in Etobicoke. Streetlighting hasn't changed there except for some LED testing on some streets, thats about it. This light looks like its seen better days.

Yeah, they upgrade signals more rapidly than streetlights. Many Toronto signals in the past 3 years have been upgraded with reflective yellow backboards, something I rarely see other cities or even the province doing.

The only places im seeing that being done is Vaughan Barrie and Toronto. Barries doing it to their CGES!

Yeah most of the remaining CGEs in North York got wiped out in the past two years. Replaced by Fortrans with reflective backplates.
