[Gone] Pemco Fish heads
A parking lot that has 4 pemco fish heads. Two in this photo and 2 where I am standing. The teardrops are from 2010, and the AE 115s are from last year. Very rare fish heads and I believe these were original to this plaza considering that the main road was lit with all fish heads back in the 70s. Before the AE 115's, there were 2 GE M400's that got knocked down in 2014. I have only driven by at night and unsure whether they are all MH or the pemcos and B2255's are MV. Guessing MH though.

Do all the new 115s in your area have that rounder looking glass? That's actually the glass the original American Electric 13-000s used in the 60s! Those Fishheads are cool. They seem to have been fairly common in Canada at one time.

Nice find! Pape ave. in Toronto still has a few of these in use. I'm pretty sure they were originally MV but are now 150w HPS.

Yeah we don't use that glass for the 115 here. In rural parts of Ontario I have seen these glasses used on a lot of the old MV 115's. We lost our last city street Pemco fish head this year too. Yeah I remember the pape ave ones too. Theres one left on Airport rd just before hwy 9 in caledon thats still there.

The 115 has only been around since 2003, so none are old... Are you sure it wasn't an older 13-000, 13, or 113 that you saw? All those models predate the 115. IMO they should start using this glass. Looks good on the 115!

I spy a black and macdonald utility van! But why is the logo censored out? Laughing

Guys, I just realized I don't know the difference between a 113 and 115, I take it the 115 replaced the 113?

Haha just for them Laughing

Yeah they look identical from afar. Clearly I also didn't see the difference between the 113 and 115. Etobicoke must be using a lot of 113's then. Laughing

The 115 has a larger more pronounced hump on the door and has a 2-bolt slipfitter with leveling steps. The 113 has a 4-bolt fitter. Also you can generally tell by the font on the NEMA tag. The 115s all have those bold chubby numbers while the 113s and older AEs usually had thin-stroke numbers. The later 113s (late 90s) used the same bolded font NEMA tags that AEL currently uses. The 115 is actually pretty close in design to the original small AE cobrahead, the 13-000.

BTW, there was also an American Electric 114, made alongside the 113. Anyone want to guess the difference between them? Kind of a stupid reason but they used two different model numbers for whatever reason. There was also a 314 to accompany the 313 (which was superseded by the 315 in 2003).

Update: These have all been LED'd. The B2255's were left though.

Nice that you grabbed this pic while you did! Very unfortunate they removed these though. Those 115s were brand new!

Were the 115's metal halide too? I have seen the round glass on new ones they install up north and I like it more than the squarish refractor that was also used on the OV-15. What is a 114? Google isn't being very helpful.

Yeah they were MH. The new LED's are pretty ugly, il have to get a photo

Do you know what wattage they were, and were they PSMH?
