Old Fluorescent
I came across 2 of these old beautys today in a rural town hospital parking lot. There were 2 of them both on polefabs. I don't know if they work at night, I assume they do because its a hospital. Theres got to be some light in the parking lot.

Nice find! I like that they used Polefabs and Powerlite curved arms instead of the more common davits.

Yeah it was pretty neat to see, you don't see those almost at all anymore

I'm not sure if LEDs swept them away in the last couple of years but the Town of Sharon (near Newmarket) had fluorescent streetlighting along it's main street. The side streets were lit with a combination of newer HPS and MV cobraheads.

I think I recall seeing them before actually, I don't think they've been swallowed up by LED's yet unless newmarkets gone LED already?

Here's a shot I took of them at night a few years back.

I was in Newmarket a week ago and I noticed that the HPS post tops and cobraheads on residential streets got replaced with LED. The remote ballasted gumballs they have are still in service though. I guess it's because they have to either bypass the ballast or replace the arm to convert to LED. I did not check the fluorescents though.

Chances are they are now LED. Sad

Oh and the other day I found an old hidden clamshell in bolton. Heres the streetview. I was driving so I couldn't get an actual photo

Oooh nice catch! I wonder if it still works at night. That actually might be the last clamshell streetlight left in southern Ontario. This one near Stouffville got removed in late 2009.

It very well could be the last one down here! I happened to see it the other day when I drove by, I missed it over all these years and I just now saw it lol. Hopefully it still does work at night

Yeah, granted old MV equipment is usually quite reliable so I'd imagine it would still work but maybe a bit dim unless someone disconnected it.

Next time I go around there at night il try and see if its still working

That would be awesome to see, especially if it still works Cool
