WG bay window relamping
All lamps were burned out except one full mercury GE F32T8SP35 lamp, 11 others all dead

The 175W MHs were both original lamps too and dead!
It was ridiculous carrying an 8ft ladder up a 12 FT ladder through an 2ft by 3ft access door lol
I bet no one's been up here in 10 years or so

I got all of them working, amazing all those electronic ballasts from the 90s work still

wow sounds like quite the adventure! BTW, it's against OSHA to be carrying something up a ladder. You need both hands on the ladder you're climbing. Razz Your employer could get into some trouble if anyone from OHSA found out. Shocked

Umm how do you carry lamps up a ladder with no hands? Wink
The one and only thing we got in trouble for was a guy in the other location wasn't wearing a saftey harness while in the bucket , he was 6ft in the air working on a light and got the company a fine

I don't know but your supposed to have both hands free, one to hold yourself and the other to reach for the next rung. Razz My construction teacher was going over soem basic OSHA rules and fire code stuff. The classroom we're in while the vocational building is being remodeled is technically illegal because it only has one means of egress, the door. There's no second door or any windows.

Mike, you're doing a construction class? COOL!!!
LOL sometimes people are paranoid about stuff like that...I have another OSHA story for some other time...as far as that goes when I got those two "Old-School" Metalux/Gibson lights from my school we removed them with the power still on! Laughing
I've also seen Walgreens stores with bay windows like this, did you get those GE SP35 8ft Watt-Misers from a setup like this?
Did you guys have to remove all the sign banners that are laying on the floor?
And did you leave the original T8 lamp installed?

Yeah I work live all the time, only gotten zapped once just because I touched the wire strippers to the ceiling grid while stripping the live wire!
Yes I got the 8ft lamps from one of these set ups, but this is the only one ive ever seen with MH fixtures too
Those signs were just laying on the floor for whatever reason..they probably fell off the wall
I did leave the original lamp going it looks like it has a year or so left in it

Did you put 3500K or 4100K lamps in? Seems to me 3500K is falling out of favor in favor of 4100K for some reason...is this also your observation?
streetlight98   [Sep 20, 2013 at 10:28 AM]
yeah I've noticed cool white seems to be replacing 3500K. The cool white lamps are cheaper so that's probably why.

I must say I also like their color...ever notice the 4100K T8s look yellower than the T12 versions? Or is it just me?
In a grocery store I was frequenting this summer the place was lit with 3500K lamps in various stages of life, some newish, some older and kinda mercury starved...but the spot replacements of 4100Ks looked so much better I thought!

I find the 4100K T8s have slight changes in colour temp depending on which ballast you run them on, they appear yellowish on Sylvania Quicktronic IS ballasts but look more whiter on some offbrand T8 ballasts I have.

On the Quicktronic ballasts, I use 5000K lamps to get that crisp white look.

I've noticed less 3500K lamps being installs now too.

Yeah 3500K is going away in most stores for whatever reason , I like 3500K better though
The 700 series 4100K lamps are yellowish compared to the 800s which look whiter and brighter
