new France neon transformer
9KV 30mA the old one was the same type but was shorted and the breaker was tripped, I started with this letter "W" and switched it off then reset the breaker, the "allgreens" all stayed on, but when I switched the W back on the transformer made a loud buzz and then breaker tripped, so it was obvious at that point, I used a neon tester to verify the tubes both worked, then took the neons out and replaced the NST, after that it worked!
Also had about 10 bird nests to remove at this store, inside I had a bi-monthly to fix any interior lights, only 2 F96T8's were out , and 2 parking lot lights needed nee lamps, one also had a bad socket

wow so you did a lot of work. So this place has 8ft T8s? cool to see 8ft T8s over f32T8.

Yeah a lot more then a typical store has, but I've been at worse stores where multiple pole lights need ballasts and new sockets and a bunch of ballasts inside the store were dead, so many 2 lamp F32 ones that we used them all up on the truck we started using 3 lamp ballasts, the next job had a few out..by then we were using 4 lamp ballasts! Lol
One time I was in a store with every single light working perfectly not even a lense that was dirty, so I had to call my boss to ask him what I was suposed to put on the work order Laughing

Many of the older stores have the 8ft T8s the 54W lamps, but newer stores all F32T8/25W/SPX41 lamps running on 4 lamp ballasts

ugh those 4 lamps ballasts are terrible. i see them fail at Wal-Mart all the time. Rolling Eyes The two lamp ballasts are much better! i guess it's since the controls have more "breathing room". Are the 54W T8s energy saving lamps? i always thought they were 59W? i didn't know they made /ES 8ft t8s but i guess it makes sense since T12 8ft and 4ft and T8 4ft all have ES lamps.

Yeah, I think the two lamp ballasts are more reliable. Also if you can still find them, single voltage ballasts should be more reliable than multi volt ballasts.

Certainly single voltage ballasts last the longest! Most ballasts I replace these days are replacements Neutral
streetlight98   [Nov 03, 2013 at 01:35 PM]
do they even make single volt commercial electronic ballasts? I've only seen the residential ballasts made in 120V single tap.

I haven't come across any latley, the last single voltage electronic ballasts were made by universal and super junky ironically. .changed one in our own office from February
