New OVX lens
Well I got the photos upon a few other members requests. The one on the left is also a different aluminum pole used. It was hit by a car and the glass fell out of the old one and they replaced the entire pole. The right photo is a better picture of the new OVX lens. Sadly this replaced a B2255 recently.

Cool. I always wondered what these Cooper Lighting OVX's looked like with the new glass lenses.

The new drop glass refractor looks like it's ripples are finer, almost like it's a frosted glass drop lens. That's what makes it look most different to me. Thanks for the pics, first I've seen here. Shiniest/newest OVX I've seen here too.

If you want to see more of them m@, there are 3 more on Dixie. All between the powerlines and Orenda road. They are more shiny than the other OVX's. I wish they had white painted OVX's around here besides the 10 or 20 of them Rolling Eyes Sad

Looks a bit odd but ehh still better than a FCO OVX. Laughing

Is that a CGE I see that got converted to plumbizer mount?

Model25: I bet you'll know there's stretches of white OVX's if I refresh your memory: Chinguacousy Rd (Bovaird to Sandalwood), Mclaughlin Rd (Lowry to Wanless), and Castlemore Rd (Goreway to McVean). All these came from road widening done by Aecon Construction, which actually has an electrical division called AGI. Oddly, pretty much all other Aecon projects used other electrical contractors won by competitive bidding and white OVX's never appeared again.

@joe Yeah it is. The 2 on shorter arms were converted while the longer arms stayed CGE hangers. All the signals not on the center median are all CGE's still. (This is the light with the retrofitted timers on the CGEs)

@m@ hmm, thanks for the refresh Razz I didn't know about the white OVX's on Chinguacousy Rd though. There is also a random one on Queen street here . This one is no older than 5 years.

The random super high 400W HPS B225 on Main on the north side of the rail bridge was OVX'ed January 2014. Then a week later it appears the whole pole and arm were replaced. Same height used, 4' arm replaced with an 8'er.

I was hoping it was still there Sad Well I guess theres no more rare lights on Hurontario on the Brampton side. The Model 25 is gone the Unidor is gone and now the B2255. Was it a concrete pole or steel?
m@   [Feb 01, 2014 at 10:41 PM]
was a concrete pole, and is again one.
Model25FanForever   [Feb 01, 2014 at 11:00 PM]
Ah I decided to go to it today. Theres a temporary line running on the pole too. The CGE 8-8-8 without the backplate is still there too. Smile
m@   [Feb 02, 2014 at 12:23 AM]
Yeah, the old pole with the B2255 had an overhead line too, for whatever reason. Probably the same reason why I'm not sure why there is even a high pole cobra in a section that is lit with low coach post toppers. Not just here, on Queen too.

And about that CGE 8-8-8, it isn't even visible to traffic since they installed the massive bus shelter in front off it! I think yet again, it's still up for the same reason as above mentioned cobra Laughing
Model25FanForever   [Feb 02, 2014 at 12:35 AM]
Yeah Queen also has that one aluminum one too Laughing

I wonder why they kept some of the really tall poles for a road with tiny post top poles. They should have just put in a post top IMO.

Yeah the shelter is massive and it actually still is visible depending on where your idling
Cool

The pole on the right got replaced recently along with the CGE signal and arm. The OVX and tapered arm were spared unfortunatly Laughing
