Line Materials Night Sentry 175w merc in Riverside, CA
The L-M Night Sentry here is owned and maintained by the city's municipal utility and leased to this private property as a security light in the parking lot. I have not seen one of these in a while. I know there are some Night Sentrys leased by utilities in Nevada though. We have seen it at night and it has a DX white mercury lamp, about half dim but still lights ok, and the wattage would be presumed to be 175w. An added bonus is that it appears this L-M still has its original photocontrol from the 60s. Looks a lot like my Tabet new old stock photocontrol from the mid 60s. Henry aka Dimbulb has one of these beauties in his collection.

I've only seen one of these in Washington State before and it's on the other side of the mountains and hours away. I think they are a pretty rare sight across the country.

beautiful! yeah i think i read that these came equipped with Tabet PCs. I've never heard of them otherwise so were they a small company?

Line Materials was one of the "Big Three" (the other two being GE and Westinghouse) during the heyday of mercury lighting of the 50s-60s.

These must be pretty rare as I haven't seen these in Ontario. We have some HPS rebuilt Unistyle 175 and 400 lumes still in use though.
