B2227 Relfector
I cannot believe how good the reflectors in these are, the light intensity is about the same as a 400 watt OVX!

Wonder how intense it would be if you retrofited it to 400w HPS.
gailgrove   [Apr 26, 2011 at 07:30 PM]
1000w intensity? Cool
streetlight98   [Apr 26, 2011 at 08:08 PM]
Would that wattage lamp even fit in this light?
joe_347V   [Apr 27, 2011 at 12:19 AM]
If the 1kw HPS doesn't fit just stick a 1kw cram MH inside it Shocked
gailgrove   [May 03, 2011 at 12:04 AM]
Or cram 1KW HPS (they are rare but do exist) I'm not sure that a ED/BT-37 would still fit in this light, I'll try soon.
streetlight98   [May 03, 2011 at 07:39 PM]
higher wattage HPS lamps have a small envelope as it is, I didn't know it was possible to make a reduced envelope HPS lamp
gailgrove   [May 03, 2011 at 07:41 PM]
They have two arctubes like a standby lamp except both light up at the same time, they also used ED-37 jackets.
streetlight98   [May 03, 2011 at 07:54 PM]
Oh. When one dies, does the other stay lit or do they both extinguish?
gailgrove   [May 03, 2011 at 07:57 PM]
The're wired in series so yes, both will go out at the same time.
joe_347V   [May 03, 2011 at 08:56 PM]
I'm guessing a ED/BT 37 lamp should fit since it fits in the similarly sized R47. Haven't seen a cram 1kw HPS though.
streetlight98   [Sep 01, 2011 at 01:24 PM]
IMO, If you can't fit a full sized lamp in, the fixture is too small for that wattage.
gailgrove   [Sep 01, 2011 at 01:34 PM]
I agree, but a lot of area lights are only designed for cram 1KW lamps which is rather stupid in my opinion.
streetlight98   [Sep 01, 2011 at 01:40 PM]
I do too. I think The Cooper Galleria can except full size 1000w lamps in vertical lamp position.
gailgrove   [Sep 01, 2011 at 01:53 PM]
Yep it can!
