Crunch!
This is the damage to the shoebox after the pole fell, I'm not sure how so much damage happened to the reflector when the outside is in fairly good shape.

There was a shoebox on the ground at a shopping center. It still had the ballast, lamp, and everything. I took the ballast out and lamp out of it and am gonna use the ballast for something.. Not sure what yet.

There was a down shoebox at a shopping plazza in Mass, but I didn't even think to take the ballast. (It was a Cooper Galleria Square, but the lamp was smashed and you needed bolts to get inside. I could have used my foot to smash the lens if i really wanted what was inside). I found it ironic how the lamp broke but the flat glass survived. Shocked

I took the ballast out of a shoebox once as well, it was at a train station and had been (and still is) laying on the ground for more than 3 years. I wouldn't count on breaking that glass either, it is about 1/4 of an inch think and tempered, some pretty though glass!

Well at least the socket is still usable. Razz

That's about it! I think the ballast may of been salvageable but I wasn't going to attempt it since this light was in quite a busy area.
