Powerlite "Poubelles"
These where all over the place in Montreal, I know nothing else about them though. To me they look like a garbage can with a refractor sticking out the bottom, I wonder who made (makes) these as some seem to have B2255 refractors while other had OV-25 lenses, others still had the refractor from a model 25. They also seem to still be made since some new ones had been installed after poles knock downs.
**Okay thanks guys for identifying them as Powerlites, I figured they where.**

Those sure looks very late 70s to 80s style!!! Can you take pictures of the one that you KNOW is a newer one replacing a downed on? I want to see design differences..

These are from PowerLite, I don't know the model though.

Yeah these are from Powerlite, but I don't know more about them.

But shouldn't you call them a "poubelle" instead Laughing
TiCoune66   [Jul 07, 2011 at 03:14 AM]
Yup, a poubelle! That's the actual nickname of those in French!

wow ! Memories Very Happy
wonderful, 'poubelle" is the correct name for these lanterns !
This is an old model from Powerlite. I took a picture of this lantern, the medium size, (3 sizes in all ) with a sticker near the refractor.
Montreal have some old lantern like this one.

Thanks guys, I figured they where Powerlite but that still doesn't explain why they had different refractors. Too late Jace, I'm not going for another 12 hour car trip to take a picture. I only noticed the one size (this one) when I was there, does anyone know anything else about them? And yes I am sure I did see new ones installed, possibly they where NOS? I'll change the title too Very Happy
Iridium   [Jul 07, 2011 at 09:43 PM]
The tittle is nice and it's the name given by my friends in Montreal! Laughing

If i have the time i'll show you the other models taken during my trips in Montreal and Quebec.
