This OV-25...
This OV-25 was recently taken down for road work and is now laying in the ditch, I noticed the pole had been taken down a few weeks ago and today I went to look at the light (to attempt a "rescue mission"), I was not happy as I approached the light, the first thing I saw was the door, laying a few feet from the pole without the refractor, that was a bad start, I then went to the other side of the pole to see the fixture, or what was left of it I should say! The OV-25 was crushed into about 5 pieces! It looks like they either dropped it from 50 feet along with the mast arm (detached from the pole) or took it down, put it on the ground and set the ton and a half concrete pole on top of it! It is an absolute write-off as a collectible item but I may salvage it this Thursday for the 400 watt HPS ballast and other parts, the ballast I may put in my 250 watt OV-25 with non-working ballast. There was also an OVX (also 400 watts) however it was laying three feet from the road and in a very obvious place, the OV-25 is 10 feet down the ditch and blocked by the temporary concrete barrier so I don't think anyone will see me taking it. I am going to try to get a hold of the contractor and see if I can take the OVX and maybe get the OV-25 that is still up but will be coming down.

If you take the OVX might you be able send it to me? I would like an unpainted New-hinge version. 8D

I didn't look closely enough to see if it was the new hinge design or not, to be fair Darren did ask for an OVX first and you already have one. If (and that's a big if) I do get it I will first ask Darren if he wants it, if not then we can talk about it. I hope to take a trip to a traffic signal contractor soon so I might be able to get an OVX there since they do a lot of work here and have taken down a lot of OVXs (like these ones.

I think I saw a 125 laying on the ground nearby in late November. Shocked

You go and give it to Darren. I forgot about him to be honest. xD I know he wants one, if you get one go ahead and give it to him. I already have an OVX so he goes first.

If you get one from that yard I will gladly take one though.

Really? I can't think of where that would of come from. Hey Ian was there any talks about making a mobile version of this site? I see the need for it now that I have an iPod! Cool

With Droid, you can upload with no problems, but with iPod/iPad I will try to contact Apple and see what possible ways to make it happen. I have heard of special plug in or an app needs to be created to make it possible. It may take a while though....

My phone won't let me upload at all. I guess because mine sucks. Its so old.

Yeah, I can only comment and post on the forum with my iPhone, I was thinking if the URL unloading was working again I could upload to something like Photobucket which has an app to let you upload and then use the URL upload feature to upload on to here.

You can only post with your iPhone? I think the best way I have come up with is to email myself any pictures from my iPod and then upload them with my laptop. Incase anyone was wondering I never did get the light for two reasons, the first is that there where to many people at the movie theatre that could see, the second is that it was frozen to the ground! It would take a lot of effort and noise to get it free.

I'll admit i don't have a cell phone- yet. Embarrassed I'll be getting one for my birthday in May, but I don't know what type... I take my pics with my camera and just upload it straight to my laptop and then here.

Well, all my pics get loaded to my computer where I'll resize it and then upload on to here. I then save the resized copy in my GoL Pic folder so I can easily reupload in case something happens to the online one.

I don't have a cell phone either, though the iPod touch is almost one, minus the phone. Though I then found a app that I can make free calls from. Razz
