My first Lifeguard!
This is sort of one of the holy grails of lamp collecting from what I understand. Westinghouse clear 175w Lifeguard. March '79 vintage. Lightly used too, it could easily outlive me even if it went in dusk to dawn service tonight.

Special thanks to a fellow collector for this lamp.

Welcome to the Lifeguard club. I too searched for years to find one of these and then ended up finding two NOS ones in one week at old hardware stores. There are probably still hundreds of yard lights across the country still burning these from the 1970's and 80's.

Nice lamp!

I have three of them. A 175 watt /DX in my OV-15 and two cleartop 250 watt /C lamps.

Cleartops are my favorite. You get a clear lamp and a coated lamp all in one!

I also like clear tops. I guess I'm sort of a member of the clear top club, I have a Chinese version of one that's not the true BT28 shape.

Alain, thanks for the welcome! I'm glad to be a member. Just today I went to Batteries and Bulbs and spent $56.99 of my college student budget for a M57 ballast kit, which will also work for H39, just so I can fire this baby up.

Nice! I have one of these, bought a few years ago off eBay. I also have a 175w /DX I got from a trade with Aaron and a couple of well used /DX 400w ones I got from Restore. One of the 400 watters is in my B2255 after I converted it to 400w MH/MV.

Cool to see you bought a ballast, I spent around the same last year when I bought a 175w replacement ballast for my Crimefighter.

Yeah, can't wait to get this baby lit!
