Crouse Hinds OV-15 (L-150) Internals.
Here is the new light on the inside. I used that MV/MH ballast that was formerly in the M-250 R2 because I thought I wanted to make this more.... Old-like. xD

In it right now is a clear Sylvania MV lamp. Which lights up very well!

I also wired it neat and used those crimper wire things to wire this. So no wirenuts at all!

Nice, I see I'm not the only one who "retrofits" HPS lumes to MV. Very Happy

When I get that OVX from Jace, I am gonna put a 400 watt Metal Halide/Mercury Vapor ballast in it, that I found on the ground yesterday inside a shoebox that was just lying there.

And that OVX was originally HPS so xD

My OVG was originally HPS and I converted it to MV, although the HPS ballast was bad anyway.

The original Ballast in this fixture WORKS, but it's way in Oregon as Alain wanted to keep the ballast (Like I kept the 113 ballast from the 113 I am giving you Tony)

He fitted a 70 watt HPS advance ballast in this fixture though. Like I said I plan to use that 70 watt HPS ballast in my M-250 R2 and make the M-250 R2 FCO again. I just need a flat glass....

And I wanted this to work with MV lights.

Nice job with the MV ballast! Nothing wrong with doing this either, and as you can see from the spec sheet, they were originally available with 175w MV and they look good that way. My HPS NEMA and my '65 M250R are the only streetlights in my collection that still have their original gear untouched. I did a 150w HPS to 175w MV conversion on my ITT 13 & I love it like that, though they were never made like that originally.

All of my streetlights except for this one, M-250 R1 FCO, M-250 R2 FCO, and OVM have their original ballasts and gear in them.

The M-250 R1 has a 240 volt ballast, the OVM's ballast fried, and the M-250 R2 ballast fried as well.

And By the way this is actually a Probe Start Metal Halide ballast. On the label it says it works with MV as well. And it does. xD Just takes a while to fire up.

Great wiring here.....that's for sure! Your terminal block is sure in a different place!
LilCinnamon   [Nov 18, 2011 at 04:25 AM]
Why is the bracket this way? It gets annoying to mount the ballast with those small nuts. Especially in my OVM, as it mounts the same way as this one.

And as for the terminal block I am not sure why it is this way. Do you have any idea why the terminal block is on a bracket then it's normal place?

I have an OVZ from 2002 that was originally 100 watt HPS but I converted it to 175 watt MV.
