The Insides Of The Utilitech Dusk To Dawn Light
Here is a pic showing the insides of my Utilitech metal halide dusk to dawn light. Doesn't look bad. But it is a residential grade light so who knows how long this would last if i installed it somewhere.

Boy they really crammed it all in there! Shocked
HPSM250R2   [Jan 18, 2012 at 01:33 AM]
Yeah they did. I had to cram the wires in that tiny space behind the ballast.

These are surprizingly good. Mine has been up for over a year and it's going strong. It's not loud and it doesn't get that hot either.

The 175 watt MV barn lights i used to have got REALLY hot.

The blaster I used to have got pretty hot too. I hate those cheesey yardblasters that have virtually replaced the good ol' real NEMA heads. Mad Sad

They haven't replaced real NEMA heads. I know AEL, GE, and Cooper still make NEMA's.

oddly enough Hubbel makes (or did last time i checked) a Bucket type fixture with a Wall Mount and Latches on the side.

It looks like they still do and they also make the regular style yardlight.

Yes, but yardblasters are more common since they're cheaper.
