Utilitech Dusk To Dawn Light And Utilitech Photocontrol
Bought these at Lowes today. A Utilitech branded dusk to dawn light, not exactly sure who makes it. A sticker on it says Ningbo Utec Electric Co. And a Utilitech branded ALR model LC-208-277 photocontrol. They used to sell the Touch And Glow photocontrols.

I read that the fixtures originally were made by LG but it appears it's just another Chinese company now. Many of them seem to have ballast problems. That red photocontrol is interesting - I wonder why they would sell 208/277 PC's at Lowe's? Will this even switch properly at 120v? The photocontrol makes it look like it goes on your normal residental yardblaster-style light.

I tried using it on a 120 volt light and it did not work. I'm suprised they sell them at Lowes too. Like i said, Lowes will probably have a lot of returns on these. People will probably buy them for their yard light and find out it's the wrong voltage. Or they'll just return it saying it doesn't work. Thats what i'm guessing will happen.

Let's see this thing lit up.

Nice French translation here, Metal Halide has been translated into "Metallized Halide" Laughing

I had to cram the wires in this light when i wired it. Its a very tight space in this thing.

Hmm what's the correct translation for metal halide, my lamp boxes say "Halogénures" for metal halide.
TiCoune66   [Jan 16, 2012 at 03:14 AM]
Yup, that's correct! Or "Halogénures Métallique" to be even more exact.

Is the PC cover full sized or is it like those short clear ones?
HPSM250R2   [Jan 17, 2012 at 04:38 AM]
The light just has one of those button style photocontrols, with a little cover on it so you can cover the photocontrol if you want to just use a wall switch to turn it on and off.

Sorry for the late reply, i meant the ALR PC...

The ALR photocontrol in the picture is a 208-277 volt model. It has a regular size cover with a clear window. And it's maroon, which is the color for 208-277 volt photocontrols.
