My newest addition: Cooper OVX!
Drop lens too! I scored on this one. So Jace, I have an OVX now. xD ANd I didn't need yours. That's why I said you can give it to Aaron, cause one, he doesn't have a cobrahead and he deserves one, and two, OVX's weren't hard to find in Denver area. xD I scored better too cause it has a Drop lens. (Acrylic plastic though, but I am fine. xD)

I am gonna test this soon, I bet it still works, everything looks in good condition.

Found this on the side of the road (near where I took pics of that OVH on the ground), a Davit pole and in like.. Nowhere, I got it and they let me take it. I saved this old buddy from being scrapped.

Now I got what has been on my wanted list for a while: An OVX.

Glue "Wears out" not "Fails" xDD

Now back on topic:

I guess the OVX was in a place that got more wear and tear on the NEMA tag. I might need a new one. D:

Well Ian, you know how to make them. Wink I find the metallic NEMA tags get brittle over time while the polyester ones just fade...
LilCinnamon   [Dec 26, 2011 at 03:34 PM]
the ones I make tend to not work well. The one I made on the M-250 R2 (17 MH) Ripped off easily. I am gonna keep this NEMA tag on here for now anyway. Keep it mroe original. The NEA tag hold on firmly anyway just pieces of it are flaking off. And not the Number part at all, just the yellow part.
streetlight98   [Dec 26, 2011 at 03:47 PM]
Yeah I'd keep it... I plan on inquiring a place like this to see if they can make a NEMA tag.
LilCinnamon   [Dec 26, 2011 at 03:49 PM]
We can buy NEMA tags, it just will be hard to find one, Electromark makes them and we can order from there, if there is a way. NEMA tags should be cheap, since they are just paper.

You could probably get a custom bumper sticker made with the NEMA tag designs on them and then just to cut to size afterwards. To save money you could probably fit a few tags on each sticker.
LilCinnamon   [Dec 26, 2011 at 05:49 PM]
Another way is you could Buy paper with 3 inch by 3 inch stickers on them with Yellow, Red, or Blue, and them print the numbers on them. Then you could make them into a NEMA tag.

I could never find 3X3 labels here, and I don't recall seeing coloured labels here too. Confused
LilCinnamon   [Dec 26, 2011 at 06:01 PM]
Look online. xD The internet has lots of things you will be surprised. I bet you will find some print-out 3 by 3 labels on sale online somewhere.
mercuryvaporrocks   [Dec 26, 2011 at 06:23 PM]
The homemade labels I made were no match to rain, water would get in and ruin the labels which is why I bought some real labels from the National Grid.
streetlight98   [Dec 26, 2011 at 06:57 PM]
Ian; NEMA tags aren't PAPER!!!! Shocked No wonder your tags aren't lasting good. They're polyester. And there's usually a minium quantity, so I wouldn't count on an awesome price... I don't like Electromark's tags. I don't like the source name in the side and their logo on the bottom. It's actually very simple to waterproof your tags. Print them on either white copy paper or colored copy paper, I personally prefer the latter, and either put clear shipping tape over it or spray paint a clear coat over the tags. It actually works!!!!

I have a laminator, that's what I use. I laminate things all the time. The lamination doesn't seem to work all the time though, since that's what peeled off the last one was the front part of the lamination.

And I would prefer to get an Electromark one cause it would match the Coopers since they use them xD
streetlight98   [Dec 27, 2011 at 01:05 AM]
For a Cooper it would be a good match, but that's about it...

Ok guys, let me say this politely but also honest, not to rain down on this parade, but how come this pic got 34 comments? S omany historic street lights here get very little comments and they have far more historical value than any street light made in the 90s, yes even those made in the 70s are more interesting and cool looking, not to mention the nicer mercury look at night. Sure I respect your choice with this light but with many members here liking the more modern stuff the vintage collectors like me feel a little left out. Just stating my feelings Wink
gailgrove   [Dec 27, 2011 at 02:53 AM]
Well Dave you don't really post many pictures of your lights, I'd be quite interested in seeing more pictures of your vintage lights, including inside shots.
Silverliner14B   [Dec 27, 2011 at 02:56 AM]
No no I am not speaking for MY pics only, I just wanted to see more appreciation for older stuff.
gailgrove   [Dec 27, 2011 at 03:00 AM]
I agree with you, though I still would be interested in seeing more of your lights.
streetlight98   [Dec 27, 2011 at 03:27 AM]
i do appreciate older stuff, and I agree with you, and mainly these comments have nothing to do with the light itself anyways, so modern stuff isn't favored over the vintage stuff, it just seems the modern stuff gets more pff topic comments... And it seems I'm one of the off topic people without even realizing it...
joe_347V   [Dec 27, 2011 at 03:42 AM]
I agree with Dave, I'm not even sure why this has no comments. And I've noticed that my pics of modern lights get more comments for some odd reason.
LilCinnamon   [Dec 27, 2011 at 01:55 PM]
This already has 40 comments. o.o Looks like discussion can go far. xD

I commented on that picture Joe.

We could get back to this light in this picture. xD You know the comments in the picture all came from this light and discussing it.
