Cooper OVX insides.
Not anything too special. VERY Roomy in this fixture, but the lamp still doesn't have enough room to RUN properly. xD Even for 250 watts HPS.

The Swing Down ballast tray is optional for OVX, OVD/F/Y so this one didn't have that option.....if you go to Cooper website, you will see there are options of how you specify the fixture, what type of ballast, will it have photocell or not, voltage, color. Sepcial features and more....

This ballast is JUST like the one found in my OVZ and OVH.. So they all have the same type of ballast. All Multi-Tap too! Except the OVH one is Rusted.

I am speaking of this special swing out ballast tray feature.....its an optional feature.......do you see the 4 threads where there's no screws....that's where this special strip assembly would be IF the company chose to use it for easy ballast replacements like in David F's pic

On the OVX, OVM, OVS, L-150(OV-15), L-250(OV-25), ALL have the same style socket holder. And a good way of adjusting the socket. What do you think of the socket holders? I think they are pretty good. My OVM, L-150 and OVX all have the same kind.

My OV-15 has something SIMILAR, but not exactly the same, as it can't adjust.

The OVZ has a cheap version, which isn't even close to the OVX, it's more... Like the 115. To adjust the socket you have to unscrew the whole socket.

My M-400 has a similar style socket adjuster. To adjust the socket position, you loosen two screws and the socket bracket locks into different positions.

It seems all coopers have ONE Wirenut in their fixtures. My OVH, OVX and OVZ (Not exactly a WIRENUT, more like a clamp-nut on the OVZ) and the wiring in them ir pretty messy.

I wonder why Cooper's wiring is so messy. And my OVX, OVH and OVZ have a very similar inside setup. In fact they are almost exactly the same, especially the ballasts.

Well, they make light fixtures. They're not necessarily neat freaks about it.
LilCinnamon   [Dec 27, 2011 at 01:42 PM]
Heh I don't think anyone is. At least Cooper used one of those wire-bundlers so it looks a bit neater.

GE gets messy with their wiring as well. They don't use wire-bundlers at all.

I would say AE is the neatest with wiring. Both my 115's were neat. (my grey 115 is still neat but the unpainted one isn't anymore cause of me messing with it. xD

Ugggg... I always cut off those plastic pull-ties. Rolling Eyes
joe_347V   [Dec 27, 2011 at 08:46 PM]
I use them, they make the wiring neater in some fixtures.
LilCinnamon   [Jan 02, 2012 at 07:55 PM]
I use them too, it can make wiring VERY neat. I know tony uses them a lot so his wiring in his is veeery neat.

The more you use the neater it is. And I mostly use them if I am going to keep the fixture the same, and not take them apart.
