Partially burned out RED LED module.
This really needs to be fixed along with the green and yellow.

University and Hampton intersection really needs to update the signal.. The red stays red TOO long on the Hampton side, this backing up traffic to the signal before it.

And half of the LED modules on this intersection have like half of the LEDs burnt out. And only some of the LED modules were replaced with dialights non-pixelated modules, the rest.. Have half of the pixels burnt out. It's ugly really. They need to do SOMETHING with this intersection.

You can always contact the Public Work Department of the city that this signal located Razz

Yes you should do that, it could be a safety hazard.

they don't need to update to change the timing, they should be able to do that from the Control Cabinet.

I recognize the pattern...or what's left of it. They're CooperLED modules. They were discontinued because of poor performance. Cooper also provided the LEDs for New York's pedestrian signals (tons of those have failed)

As for timing, it can be done at the intersection cabinet or downloaded from offsite (a system master or office PC)

I've seen some partially burnt out pixellated LED modules in my area too, Not sure who made them though.

They are FINALLY replacing everything on this intersection! Changing the span wire to poles, and they aren't reusing the old fixtures though... Right now the old setup and the new setup are up, and the old fixtures are on the original pole while the new fixtures are on the new pole, there were 4 old ones and 4 new ones, so that makes a total of 8 M-400 R3 FCO's right now,

I usually replace LEDs befor they get that bad. Yes we get complaints from residents complaining about long red lights after the county engineers put in 130 second timing cycles. A 30 second longer wait means we get a complaint they waited 4-5 minutes for a green.

Here that signal times are random, depending if the magnetic field in the ground picks up enough cars to trigger a green.
