HEY, Dude I also see those General Electric recessed HID lights.....the 2 x 2 ones....(do they have the ribbed reflectors?)....those were WIDELY used in Giant foods until a few years ago, they started using T-5s and T-8s.....before that they were all over....since my childhood days!!!!!!!!

Hey Jace, that Giant Foods logo is the same as the stop & Shop logo. Does Giant foods own S&S or vis-versus?

@Jace, yep those recessed HID lights have the ribbed reflectors, I believe they were quite popular in A&P Canada owned supermarkets in the 90s and early 2000s before T8/T5 became popular.

@Mike From what I read on Wikipedia, it looks like they both have the same parent company...

Odd Eight Footer Lume

Here's an odd 8' 8 lamp V shaped lume still in use in this late 50s grocery store. It has since been retrofitted to T8 though.

The parking lot of this store until recently was still lit using mercury clamshells, four to a pole. Those have since been replaced with BetaLED lumes.
