Modern High-Voltage insulators.
These are what they are putting up on the NEW power poles, which are gonna use 115 Kilovolts on the new insilators.

I got these because these were in the dumpster ready to be thrown out because they had small tears in them, so I grabbed them.

One is the dead end/suspension insulator, the other is to suspend the wire on the side, and it hangs down on the edge, both are made of a rubber material, the one in the back isn't that heavy but the one in the front is HEAVY!

As you can see with the streetlights in the background, these insulators are HUGE. It's much longer than an M-400 R2 or even a traffic light. It's longer than a 115 and an M-400 R2 combined, as you see. These are meant for high voltage, you should know.

Shocked It's like the size of a F90T17 lamp.

How much does it weigh? Shocked I always knew these where big though.
LilCinnamon   [Sep 20, 2011 at 09:32 PM]
I dunno. The one in the back I can pick up with one hand easily. The one in the front I have lots of trouble lifting. xD
streetlight98   [Sep 20, 2011 at 09:34 PM]
do they weigh more than the traffic light?
LilCinnamon   [Sep 20, 2011 at 09:37 PM]
Not the one in the back, the one int he front probably is heavier. Hard to tell.
gailgrove   [Sep 20, 2011 at 09:40 PM]
Well you could weigh it! Would you say it weighs more or less than the M400R2?
joe_347V   [Sep 20, 2011 at 09:43 PM]
Shocked How long is that?
streetlight98   [Sep 20, 2011 at 09:51 PM]
i'd guess a little over 5 feet. that's how long a t17 lamp is, 5ft.
LilCinnamon   [Sep 20, 2011 at 09:56 PM]
I probabably would say about the same as the M-400 R2.

i wonder if your M-400R2 weighs the same as my M-400. I'd guess about the same. My M-400 weighs about 40-45 pounds.
