Tony, how many cobraheads are left in your area? You should photograph them all before they disappear. Idea

There is still quite a bit left but its going away fast. The road on the other side of this intersection is still HPS. I will try and get photos of them if I can get a chance. This entire road is completly replaced.

Ick. It's like a disease. Mad Have you ever been to Seekonk Speedway? It's completely lit by 400W MV 1960s M-400, OV-25, and AE 25 with a few MH M-400 stuck in. They're slated to be removed sometime in the future, though they're replacements won't be LED thankfully.

Well face it guys, HID street lights may face a ban by 2015 or at some future date.

I want to believe that's a bunch of bull but I just have an unsettled feeling about it... Sad

Who knows, they way our government gets involved with things, anything can happen. Holyoke will be 100% led by late next year and I will only have one fixture to look at. Easthampton is already planning on replacing the Town and Country post tops to LED and the city of Greenfield just announced and LED project, also to mention all the cities and Towns in Eastern Mass that have started changeovers.

There are some induction acorn lights here but no LED yet.

So far my city is still installing HPS lights, they added in a bunch of 200w HPS OVFs during the past months to existing roads.

Most major highways like Route 28 in my area have high pressure sodium streetlights, in fact the metal halide lights in the Pittsburgh Mills Mall were all replaced with high pressure sodium streetlights recently.

This pole has been completely removed and replaced with an aluminum davit pole as part of an intersection upgrade project. The same fixture was reused on the new pole. A new pole was installed between this old pole and the one next to it with the orange flag and the wires go underground to the other side of the intersection where a new riser pole was installed to connect to the existing overhead.
