Hey Mike, here's some pics you requested of the inside of my GE M-250A2.I imagine the one you will be getting will have the faceted reflector since it is a FCO fixture.
No, this is the newer design. The first generation has a flat front in the cast. The front of this is round like the M-250R2. And I MIGHT be getting a M-250A2 FCO. Not positive. But if it is, it'll be 100w MV. It's comming from an electrician that is a friend of my uncle's.
I mean the M-250 A2s made today have the FCO reflector for drop lens. This newer generation of the M-250 A2 has been out for a while and it used to have a different reflector for drop lens for the same generation but now they use the FCO reflector for drop lens.
Why is the M-250 A2 completly differen't from the M-250 R2? Like different top housings, different doors, everything, except for the inside components..
But why did they do that instead of sticking with one top housing like the M-400 R3/A3 or R2/A2?
Well, the M-250A2 was started before the M-250R2, so my guess is instead of changing the M-250A2 cast to accomodate a top-mounted ballast for an M-250R2, they made a new casting.
And this is an older M-250A2. The newer drop lens fixtures have the same reflector as the FCO fixtures now.
This to be exact.
But why did they do that instead of sticking with one top housing like the M-400 R3/A3 or R2/A2?
