A Westy China-bulb, thats pretty bad, although Sylvania and Pilips have there mercs made in China, still not good. GE has Hungarian MVs I have some Westy incandescent China bulbs. Imported by Angelo Bros.

GE MV lamps are made in china now too Sad

the GE MV lamps are hit or miss too. sometimes they just randomly die. Confused the sylvania china mercs still seem jsut as good as the american made ones IMO. I just miss the BT shaped lamps, though i'm sure we all do.

GE MV lamps are junk. I've seen many of them fail just after 3 or 4 years.

so far the 100w mercs that NGrid has relamped have all done well, but i noticed the color of the mercs they're using now is slightly pink. I'm wondering if NGrid is using sylvania lamps now... They are using Cooper fixtures for 250W...

I have two NuWestinghouse 175w mercs - one cleartop, and the other a fully-phosphored square-sided BT-28 just like the old ones - both work great, though I can't speak for their longevity as I don't burn them often. They appear to be made well....but then, so did my Luma HPS lamps which only last about a year.

I have the 175w one in the square BT 28 shape. It seems well made although I rarely run mine too.
