Odd lamp
I found this to be a rather odd looking lamp but pretty cool at the same time. This came with the GE ballast and lamp replacement kit today. 175 watt MH, ansi code M/57E

Yeah GE changed to this odd lamp shape a couple years ago for their MH lamps. Not sure about PSMH lamps though...

streetlight98   [Sep 15, 2012 at 11:59 PM]
I've heard these are terrible too. I saw these in floods at a Wendy's and most were ruptured. Others had very bad color shifting to yellow and pink. Some were almost greenish! Shocked That said, i can't say if the lot was recently relamped or if it's been a few years...
GullWhiz   [Sep 16, 2012 at 12:06 AM]
Most of those I have seen in normal operation are kinda greenish actually! What kind of floods were you referring to? were they 175 watt? I am asking because a lot of the Wendy's have converted their floods to induction, using Sylvania Icetrons. And to my knowledge Wendy have contracts with Sylvania so I am wondering why it has GE lamps..
streetlight98   [Sep 16, 2012 at 12:12 AM]
It was a McDonald's a year ago before the Wendy's took over sometime early this year. The Floods are 250W i think... Maybe 175... They're probe start. One of the floods was either 250 or 400W HPS and worked fine. I guess the ballast was replaced at one time or something.

Well those lamps don't last long in general.....they have prefailure problems
