1963 M-400 Warming Up
With an NOS clear 400w MV Norelco lamp! :-D Note how the PC is taped over. Well, it does work, but it's actually only sensitive enough to shut off with sunlight beaming directly at the window. I took the tape off and it didn't shut off since the light itself was in the shade but I kept the tape on just so the fixture wouldn't shut off. Just in case the PC decided to shut off lol.

Sweet! My clear 400w Bonusline would feel right at home inside this lol. There's still a few M-400s left in Toronto, refitted for HPS though.

You're making me jealous with all the cool lights you have! I can't really have any more in my collection, as my parents don't want me to have more right now, but you are getting so much that I would like to have!

@ Joe; Well if you want to send that bonusline on over... Razz LOL I'm kidding I'd never ask you to do that. Shocked Wink We have some of these left too and they're still 400W MV but they get removed as they require maintenance. Sad

@ Ian; I'm making myself jealous too because this M-400isn't for me. I'd love to keep it though but I don't have the room and I already decided this light is going to my friend Marco since he's been looking for one for a long time.

I love the Original GE M400's they're one of my Favorite classic cobraheads.it's one of those timeless designs. even today it wouldn't look out of place in production.

Yeah these are really nice lights. I personally prefer the M-400 over the OV-25...

I am with you guys, I dig the original M-400. Many city owned remote ballast versions still in use in Santa Monica, Ca. burning 360W HPS Retrolux conversion lamps. The Caltrans owned ones on the Santa Monica Fwy believe it or not are still clear mercury.

My godparents have a 70s 250w HPS M-400A that's going to be mine someday I hope...I'm told it's mine if I want it but I have't had the room yet.
Are you giving Marco the Norelco lamp too Mike? Norelco sure made some cool lamps in their day; I want to find a Norelco 150w HPS retrofit lamp...or any 150w HPS retro lamp for that matter since my dad wants an HPS yardblaster as opposed to MV...Ever seen/heard of one of those Norelco 150w HPS NEMA yardblasters with a retro HPS lamp and 175w MV ballast? That's another one on my "Want" list...

I don't plan on giving him a lamp with it. He said he's got lamps and shorting caps for it.
