Econolite cabinet with all the fixins
2070-platform cabinet with Econolite ATC running the show on the top right. Detector/Pre-emption rack on top left. Modems underneath with WaveTronix radar counter hookup, power supply for the cabinet and cabinet's Malfunction Management Unit. SDLC hub. Large 16 bay terminal facility with I/O load switches. Pretty sophisticated traffic signal setup here.

That's just for traffic light control?! Our telephone network isn't that sophisticated! Shocked I also like that it has a malfunction management unit!

Yes there is alot of technology behind just the output displays (the lights). This is why the cabinets are so large. Traffic signals are data collectors, interpreters, analyzers, and communicators

When i was a little kid i used to think someone would be in the "metal closet" at the intersection and flip the switches to change the color. Laughing

Laughing Well unless you were a kid in the days of traffic towers, some of them had manually operated signals. Laughing
