Wow, no kidding...I suppose now you'll have to put up another one...
streetlight98   [Nov 02, 2011 at 02:46 AM]
I'm guessing the new one won't be a merc either. Crying or Very sad

Well if the ballast is still good, I guess you can retrofit a new lume to MV.

This light was in use for ONE month then it was hit again! Rick told me he saved the two head/socket/ballast assemblies that were not smashed. They now use probe start MH ballasts as replacements, still with mercury lamps.

AGAIN! This time you shoud put a concrete barrier in front of it, like a jersy wall. Laughing
GullWhiz   [Nov 02, 2011 at 01:03 PM]
Makes me wonder if someone crashed it ON PURPOSE cuz they hate MV so much......that they are CRAZY enough to hurt themselves to kill MV.......like a "the MV terrorist....." yeah that sounds kinda overboard to be true LOL

Or mabe the home owner that it's in front of is sick of the light coming in there windows at night ....if thats the case install a non break away steel pole with an AE 327 1000 watt MH in place of it. Razz Laughing

Bad location for that pole. might be best to move it a few feet to either side if possible. You might also consider putting up some ARMCO railing in front of it. A double height layer, with an extra support in the center of the standard span should stop this one getting hit. Here they put up short concrete bollards around those that get hit regular, or just place 2 Jersey barrier blocks on each side. Keeps trucks from crushing pavements and drains if they park illegally.

Maybe the driver who hit the pole was probably texting while driving. Rolling Eyes

Rick told me the driver was drunk and it was a hit and run incident. This is a commercial area, so no complaints about light trespass.

Who is the manufacturer of these fixtures?
GullWhiz   [Nov 09, 2011 at 04:18 PM]
Is this the same one as this one here?
rlshieldjr   [Nov 22, 2011 at 04:32 AM]
Yes, if a car didn't hit it, it could have been a Flock of Seagulls, and not the band. Update: As of 8-12-12, they have been converted to induction Crying or Very sad
