Sylvania Powerlite R47 After New Paint Job
Here's my R47 shown firing up after I sanded and repainted it, the ballast is still the Advance MV/MH like before. I masked the fixture label and NEMA tag so you could still see some of the original bare aluminum finish around it. This was originally a 250W HPS fixture so it has a green "25" tag still on it.

Whoa! Nice work! What's the spring thingy near the hinge for?
joe_347V   [Apr 24, 2010 at 03:53 AM]
Thanks FGS, the spring thingy near the hinge is to keep the door clipped in.

Looks good and FGS, I think it holds the door on to the fixture when opened...same thing for the 70s ITT fixtures (as known as the AEs...)

Thanks Jace and Darren, this was my first time sanding and painting a fixture so I kind of learned as I was restoring the light.

Thanks, It was kind of corroded near the hinge area and really corroded inside near the ballast area so I decided to sand off the corrosion and repaint it.
