Crouse-Hinds PowerMi$er 75W MV Retrofit
Here's a side profile shot. As you can see, it's pretty beefy. It comes with some springs and clips to retain it too, instead of relying solely on the socket. It's a retrofit for a 150W incandescent recessed can light but looks like some sort of projector or a super beefy flashlight or something lol.

Very interesting, seems like a clever idea back then to use a slim lamp to allow for the ballast to fit but replacement lamps are gonna be impossible to find. I wonder if its coated or clear.

The lamp is coated but I'm not sure of the phosphor type.

What color does it glow at startup? Also, where did you find this?

This glows pink at start-up. It's probably /DX but I think all phosphor lamps start off pink at ignition.

I remember my GE /W started up more or less like a diffused clear MV but it could be age. Then again /W wasn't known for good colour rendering.

I forget how my /W and /C lamps start. I think /C starts off pink but it's not as intense. My /C and /W lamps are boxed up in storage so nothing happens to them so it's not exactly convenient to go and dig them out to test lol. I'm fairly certain this is /DX after thinking about it.

You've showed me this when I was visiting, yeah pretty sweet to see it! It is pretty big, but it's older too. And I think this is like a "CMVL" Or compact mercury vapor lamp I could say, but a lot bigger

Yeah this looks like it's from the 70s or before. I forget if the GE ballast had a date code but the GE ballast had black varnish and cloth wiring so it's old. It's heavy too. The black body is made of thick gauge aluminum (not cast, "real" metal).
