Really Cool Vintage Wirenuts
Unlike modern wirenuts, these are two-piece and have a metal tube with a terminal screw. You stick the wires in and tighten the screw and then screw the bakelite cap/cover on over the metal tube. There are two different sizes here.

Cool, never heard of these before! Kinda like a cross between a lug and a standard wirenut!

Yeah they're really cool! I'll probably use them inside my fluorescent fixtures to connect the cords, in place of traditional wire nuts.

They still sell these here. A bit expensive but I used them when I replaced the cord in my Benjamin industrial to get that vintage look lol.

Oh wow that's cool. Wow that's a little steep. The same $1.99 price for regular wirenuts would probably get you about 50 of them lol.

I had got some 1xF40 preheat striplights a number of years ago...some of them had similar wirenuts in them...ofcourse those were exchanged for standard wirenuts when I replaced the cords.

Ah you didn't keep the old wirenuts? I don't normally keep old wirenuts either, but if they used this style I'd probably keep them.

No, when I replaced the rotted out power cords, my only thought with the wire-nuts was something like "these are weird" rather than "I should keep these vintage things"

Technically I probably still have them......if laying around the yard somewhere counts

Yeah, I think it's kinda neat that they still make them but at that price I can only afford to use them in more special lights lol. My Ornamental Eaglelux was also originally wired up with this style wirenuts. I replaced them with a modern terminal block during last year's restoration.

As for reusing wirenuts, I toss older wirenuts or ones where the wire snapped off inside but I generally reuse newer wirenuts.
