Yeah!

Fortunately there are still several 100W mercury fixtures scattered in my area, so one day I should get my hands on a ballast for it.

Cool, not a lot of mercury fixtures in my area, but I bought a 100w MV yardlight shortly before they stopped selling them here.

A 100w MH ballast might work too but a new one is quite expensive.

i've heard a 70 Watt MH is a better match for a 100 watt merc as the 100 watt halide ballast overdrives the 100 watt MV lamp by at least 25 Watts.

General Electric H125DX42 mercury vapour lamp from 1978.

A nice mercury lamp I got last year in a dumpster among other lamps. I still can't test it, I would need a 100W H38 ballast, or better, a 125W H42 ballast!
