Sylvania H33GL-T400/DX mercury vapour lamp
Another of all those mercury lamps I scored on eBay lately!

The sleeve is in pretty bad shape, and so was the box when I received the lamp. It even was wrapped in a special Canada Post envelope with apologizes from them for the box being damaged. Fortunately upon opening the box the lamp was fine! I've seen better packing jobs but at least the lamp arrived intact.

Glad the lamp was intact! Does this have a filament that burns through when the glass is broken or does it have a spring?

This one has a filament! I actually wondered which of the two designs was used by Sylvania. I just found a 1976 document from Sylvania showing their Safeline mercury lamps. Back then they used a unique positive-loaded switch.

I didn't catch that this was a "T" lamp when I first looked at it. I had a lot of the same lamps, only the "R" version made. However yours is much more rare!

Nice! now you really need a 400w MV ballast to run all these nice lamps. Razz

I bought one of these lamps. Now only if I can see if I can pick it up at the seller's place... The seller is located in Colorado! What luck for me. I already payed for shipping though...... He might not do local pickups.
