Halfpiper from WWII installed!
By now my basement is entirely lit with /DX fluorescents! In this part of the basement there was still an incandescent lamp, I decided not to change it immediately and, as I did with the other fixtures, convert them as they burn out. The fixture lighting the north part was the very last one to get a new lamp just before I decided to entirely convert the basement to fluorescent. So that part stayed incandescent for a good while.

But last week the lamp burnt out. You can see the 2ft wraparound that was already in place for months and was supposed to kick in afterwards. But I thought a longer 4ft fixture, hung parallel to the workbench would do a better job lighting the area.

Just after installation I had some issues with the starters, but they decided to work at some point xD. The tubes are late 2000s Sylvania /DX by the way!

You could hook both up...is there a /DX F20T12?
Can you get a pic of the etches on these /DX Sylvanias?

I love older fluorescent fixtures like this! Awesome light.

Very nice Vince! It's amazing what the quality of older items were, not even just lighting. EVERYTHING back then was made with quality in mind. Then came the new industrial way of cheapening things... Mad

Yeah, this was made when fixtures were made to last instead of the tin cans that they call fixtures now,
