Yeah I know the feeling, I've been replacing mercs left and right. We are pretty much just about done replacing them all. It's sad but thanks our government for this.

Yeah it really sucks. All the mercs on my grandparents' street and the next street over got replaced. Like 24 100W mercs, all with new lamps. I've reported every single light over the past few years so every single lamp was nice and bright. Total of 26 mercs got replaced. Boy was I unhappy when my grandma called me up and said they replaced all the lights on their street. I'm curious to see how different the road looks with HPS. I can see replacing them if they were all dim, but they all had BRIGHT NEW LAMPS!!! They just group-replaced them all even though they were all recently relamped! So angry! There wasn't one dim lamp! I had reported them all purposely so that all the fixtures would be nice and bright and they'd not bother replacing them. So what do they do? They relamp them all and THEN replace them? doesn't that seem a little backwards?

I can't speak for the one above, but I kept a very close eye on the mercs on my grandparents' street and the next street over and both streets were 100% MV except for the next street over from them, which had two HPSs mixed in. IMO, it makes sense to just service the remaining mercs until LEDs become cheaper and more feasible for utilities to buy. Makes for sense than investing in new HPS fixtures that will only be up another 10 years at the most.

I know the feeling too, but for me it's more of seeing old 70s and 80s HPS lumes get replaced with LED. Razz

Ah this right here would be a 100W MV 120V 1989 GE M-250R2 (1989 was when they bought these 100W and some 175W units).

And a little over two years later this arm now holds an LED. Sad
