Sylvania Powerlite R37s in RHODE ISLAND!
Yay! I found some! Looks like they had the option of gray paint too, as these are gray. They light the entrance road to a Catholic Church, not on a public road. I saw them first thing in the morning as the sun was rising (i had a boy scout function i had to be at very early in the moring last saturday) I honestly forget if i saw them lit or if they were off but they're probably HPS... At the time i saw them probably half the streetlights on the road were off while the other half were still on. These could possibly be on a timer. If they're still up a few years from now maybe I'll see if I can swap one out... It's probably be cheaper than having one shipped from Canada lol.

if it wasn't for the squared lenses, these would look a lot like M-400s in the thumbnail...

Nice find! I rarely see painted Powerlites too. Do these have the Powerlite tag with the wattage and date on the bottom?

I thought the painted ones were silver like the westinghouse lights were so i was surprised to see these. I didn't get to drive underneath them so i don't know what they look like underneath. A local community college had R47s before they went all LED and i don't thing they had anything on the door, not even a NEMA tag.

I've seen a couple grey R37s in RI too! I can't remember where though.

I actually haven't seen a silver painted Powerlite before and I think the grey ones here are former merc fixtures.

@ Dave; on utility poles or on private property? CRRI had bare R47s and a bunch of other lights including M-400R2s, RMGs, M-250A2s, M-250R2s, newer M-400As, and even others too but they're all LEDs now.

@ Joe; it just clicked in with me that I'm thinking of your R47 Joe lol. I guess your R47 is the only silver one? They look better silver IMO.

@Mike, I realized I forgot to reply to your comment lol, anyway I believe mine is probably the only silver R47 lol. I do know of some silver B2255s in Toronto though. I'm guessing they were former mercs that got rebuilt.

Interesting how the Powerlites weren't silver. I always thought they'd be silver if they were painted. I guess since they're bare it looks like they'd be silver.
