Snow Day!
Most of the Toronto area got hit with a pretty big snowstorm overnight. This was one of the bigger snowstorms in last few years and a lot of schools got closed in my area including the university I go to so I got to stay home today. xP

Here's some shots of my yard and a view onto the street. You can the 100w HPS OV 15 on my street that I have a pic of along with my 100w mercury yardlight.

yep no school today. Smile The power has been flickering for the past hour. Each time the flicker is getting longer. Before it was almost unnoticable but now it's enough to shut the DVR off and to make my EXIT sign restrike (since it has the PL retrofit in it) The worst is yet to come. It'll pass overnight tonight between 12AM and 4AM. By noon tomorrow the snow is gone and we'll have sun. Right now there's already a foot of snow outisde and we're supposedly getting 2-3" and hour from midnight to 4Am so that about another foot at least. Plus the wind will be picking up overnight BIG time! Right now it's 32F outside (the wind chill temp is at 7F) and the wind is sustained at 35 MPH with gusts up to 65MPH. The windchill is expected to drop to -12F with the real temp at 17F. Sunday is supposed to be really nice, though cold.

RI and MA have declared a state of emergency, shutting down all limited access highways (at least in RI anyways) until the blizzard warning is lifted tomorrow morning.

Sounds pretty common for me snow-wise...
Bet all the streetlights in your neighborhood are practically cycling Laughing

yeah everyones on the floor crying over a couple feet of snow. Not like it's a tornado that's gonna tear the rooves off all the houses. Rolling Eyes Laughing

I bet they were too, though i haven't looked. The snow is all stuck on my bedroom window's screens. they've been doing a good job plowing my street though, going down every hour or so. they're plowing right now.

Well, over here we didn't declare an emergency but most schools were closed and drivers are advised to stay home so that the roads can be cleared. I don't think the snowplows have gotten to my street yet though.

Most traffic got delayed along with the buses and the subway here. I think some sections had to be closed because the 3rd rail got snowed over.

WOW! Awesome snow storm! I didn't loose power (though it appears many people did) and we have drifts ranging from bare grass to over five feet! Shocked And it's STILL flurrying out. It could just be the snow blowing around though.

No snow in Colorado. xD It's been fairly warm here, it's blue sky outside with hardly any snow! xD

I should of expected another snow storm in the east coast. xD Seems like that area gets those often.

Where I live at is sunny and pleasant right now Razz

Well, the snow got cleared off most of the roads and sidewalks but now we have some pretty tall snowbanks. Razz There's some in a mall parking that are around 15-20' tall. Shocked
