An 400W probestart MH lamp, under the Osram Powerarc brand name, in a shop in Nesher center
I don't have much information about these lamps. But i bet that they aren't from Osram, if they are still producted today.
They aren't suitable for operation in Europe, since they can be operated only on CWA (M57) ballasts and not by any type of european HID reactor ballast for 400W lamps.
However, this lamp actually have an E40 base and not a Mogul base.
In this picture, this lamp operates by an Eltam M57 CWA ballast for american probestart MH lamps.

The PowerArc lamps of Osram are made in the USA by OSI, and these lamps can be operated on 400W mercury reactor ballasts provided with a parallel ignitor. The lamp voltage and current is perfectly compatible with European installations, and Osram indeed sell these US-made NaSc lamps in Europe as a neutral white HQI.

I think this is same as the US version of the Osram Powerstar HQI-T NDL 400W and the Venture Euro MH lamps, which also operates by a mercury ballast with a parallel ignitor.
However i think that this lamp in this picture operates by a CWA ballast of Eltam or by a MH ballast with a semiparallel ignitor, since i don't think that they reading the instructions of the lamps.

Osram Powerarc Lamps were made in theUSA before they joined with Sylvania and rebranded them Metalarc, I have a old Osram Powerarc lamp in 175 watts see HERE, although Powerarc lamps are deigned for CWA they can be lit on a European Mercury/Metal Halide Ballast and 750v Ignitor too.

dor123 yes they are the same as the European Powerstar HQI/NSI lamps but they have Coated BT Bulbs and Clear ED18 Bulbs, today in the USA they are the Same as the Metalarc MH Lamps.

Colin, this lamp is not so old as QMH have lifetime of between 5,000 hrs to 15,000 hrs. It was made after Osram joined with GTE Sylvania and have a different BT shape than your Powerarc. Still branded Powerarc.
