I like the OVM Very Happy

@dor123: This pricing list are in US$ and in US Gallons (3.78 litres). We have 87, 89 and 91/93 octane rating with regular, plus and premium unleaded gasoline. We banned leaded gasoline in the early 1990's.

What is your pricing in NIS in litre?
Form109   [Aug 02, 2010 at 08:56 PM]
Dor 123 the Gas Station is indeed Vandalized...it's been Broken into more than once and been Repainted due to Grafiti being sprayed on the outside.

i Think in the US Regular is 87 Octane,Mid Grade 89,and Premium 92-93.

I Like the OVM too!....it's the most common cobra in my Area in Fact...they have them all over the city.

The US uses a slightly different octane rating system, that's why there is a difference.
dor123   [Aug 03, 2010 at 10:11 AM]
I don't knew that the US have their own unit of measure also for liquid amounts.
SeanB~1   [Aug 03, 2010 at 06:58 PM]
The US uses it's own measuring system, for volume, pressure and speed as well as for linear measurements. Makes for some interesting conversions.

There is also 85 Octane, which I've seen in high regions, like Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico.
As far as lead is concerned, it's still used in AvGas, but if you have a road vehicle that requires it, lead additive must be added to unleaded gas.

usually sign ballasts are weatherproof, magnetic ,and power 5 - 8 8' H.O lamps!
Form109   [Aug 09, 2010 at 10:20 PM]
@icefoglights whats the purpose of Lead in Fuel anyway?

@A_Lights have you seen a Sign Ballast?...they are White Right?
icefoglights   [Aug 09, 2010 at 11:33 PM]
It did a couple things. First, it was an octane booster to prevent detonation, second it helped the valve seats make a good seal. It also prevented fuel line corrosion and bacterial growth; two issues with alternative antiknock agents of that time. It was phased out because of its toxicity and because it would fowl catalytic converters.
GullWhiz   [Aug 10, 2010 at 01:47 AM]
Form109....I actually own two different sign ballasts Wink They tend to have flexibility of wattage ranges...
A_lights   [Aug 10, 2010 at 08:45 PM]
@form109: yes I've seen a lot of sign ballasts they are white plasic is my guess, the older ones were metal and rusted
@gullwhiz: they tend to fry some lamps as fast as 2 years due to overpowering smaller sizes and the current crestfactor Is probably high too
Form109   [Jul 24, 2011 at 01:41 AM]
and to think how far gas prices have increased from the time of this photo!
A_lights   [Jul 24, 2011 at 02:43 AM]
yeah by a whole $1!
joe_347V   [Jul 24, 2011 at 03:12 AM]
This was taken yesterday! Confused

One the other hand gas is even more expensive in Canada, it's currently around $1.30 CDN/L or $5.17 USD/gal here for regular. Mad Shocked
Form109   [Jul 24, 2011 at 03:16 AM]
with the increase in gas price you would think more people would switch to more fuel efficent vehicles.
SeanB~1   [Jul 24, 2011 at 07:02 AM]
Cheaper than here by a little bit. The tax there must also be around half the cost of the fuel then, as well as assorted duties and road fund contributions. Though here the price of petrol is regulated, but diesel is only controlled to a maximum price, allowing discounting of the retailer's margin, generally around 25 cents per litre. Here also it is mandatory full service.
Form109   [Jul 29, 2011 at 11:21 PM]
i can only imagine gas prices in other countries!
streetlight98   [Jul 30, 2011 at 01:58 AM]
Devonte; not everyone can afford more fuel effecient cars. Shell gas here is almost $4 Shocked

A Little 4 Banger is better on Gas and cheaper than a V8 Hugeeeeee Truck. Smile
