NJ Turnpike Double Heads!
What MONSTERS! There's only a handful of those actually....and there was like maybe only 20 poles on this part....10 each side....This was where the turnpike split.....which wasn't too far off from the exit to Staten Island....

There was a group of those style at the toll booth just after Delaware bridge, but since new toll booth was built....I think some of those got removed....There are those groups heading to PA turnpike...

Cool, I've never seen a double head light mounted on a single arm before, I've some Quad head and double headed ones but they all had 1 arm per light.

Unusual find, must be pretty bright. I've seen a few similar installations in California.

Yes Devonte...I know which one you are talking about.....the one with one GE M-400A with a cuplight....on one pole....

Yeah those are oddballs.....

Joe...I wouldn't call the Quad Head one you showed a Quad Head...it seems more like a Twin Double headed one....a Quad Head one is actually one with 4 lighting SAME SIDE of the road Wink

Dave, I know you had and have pics of 3 headed ones from LA....can you post one....

By the way from this shot...you see 7 of them with double head...after that it's back to single headed one...

If both of them are 200watt HPS... Then they should use only one 400watt street light. But I have never seen any thing like this before. Very Happy

I wonder if the two lights are switched separately so that one can be switched off after peak traffic to save energy like some two lamp streetlights in Europe...
