Is it because it's on a median or is it because it has 2 masts? Well if that correct answer...its only strange to YOU but its common in my area LOL!

Maybe because one traffic light each direction!

Median mounted signals are somewhat common here...usually where a road meets a Divided Highway or Street...more often than none they have two masts.

Median mounted signals are pretty common here but I haven't seen the light for the cross street mounted on the median before.

Yep its the dual mast arms, I have never seen it done before, in fact the way this intersection is setup there are 5 signals facing one direction!

Stange, the most I've seen in one direction is three here. We use dual masts, but we never install streetlights on the traffic light poles.

We always have street lights in the intersection mounted on here, they are powered by the traffic signal controller.

My area usually mounts streetlights on the sides of the road on sometimes on a separate pole but I've also seen median mounted streetlights here too.

Update: I went by this light today and the Durasig signal facing the camera has since been replaced by a Fortran with black doors and visors.

Oh it's in Kitchener, near the Hwy 8/Fairway area. I think there's a Streetview link somewhere in the comments though.
