GEs and Friends
Here's a pic of some GE M-400A2s? that were installed on this stretch of highway when it was widened during the late '80s - early '90s. Over time, some of the original GEs were replaced with other lights because of failures, damage from accidents -etc. You can also see a lone Cooper OV 25 on the highway and some more drop lensed versions on the overpass.

Yes sir..they are GE M-400A2 well specifically I call them GE M-400A2 FCO (since they are full cut offs)

This is what Highway 7/bovaird had between the 410 and Hurontario before the construction ! Those exact ones but i think they were on pole fabs.

Makes sense since these were installed by MTO in 1987 or so. Razz I find these poles on Bovaird pretty interesting.

Oh and I found this picture of Bovaird and Hwy 10 back in 2004 before the widening. The sections in York Region are still largely unchanged from the MTO days except the section between Bayview and Kennedy which got bus lanes added in.

I like those GE-250A2's with the FCO. Too bad they widened. I like those too, they Look like new pole fabs

I saw that picture before are those eagle signals? Razz Back in the day when a whole intersection here would have all hangers, Now its very rare I only know of 1 or 2 intersections with no plumbizer signals but only hangers. Smile

Yeah, they sorta look like Eagle Mark IV signals. York Region still has some older intersections with hangers including this with a hanger 12-8-8-12. Shocked

This one is all hangers too. Both sets of lights were put in 2003-2004. Toronto seems to be the only city in the GTA still using hangers now.

I think so too. I miss the days with all the hangers, there aren't too many of them here anymore. The Eagle hangers are almost completely gone now and our CGE hangers aren't too far behind either.

At you guys still have CGEs, York Region got rid of the last ones in 2012. So far I've seen almost every type of signal on a hanger here, Eagles, Fortrans, and poly LFEs.
Model25FanForever   [Sep 02, 2013 at 09:07 PM]
We have all of them except some of them have smaller numbers of them like the eagles. We have none of those new ones that Toronto has all of our eagle hangers are the really old ones!

I believe Toronto is mostly installing TCT, Fortran and Econolite poly signals now. Most of the 12-8-8s get hangers too. Cool

Most of the Eagles in York date to 2003 or so. If you want to see some really old Eagles (like 60s and 70s era) head over to Belleville. When I was there in 2011 they had a bunch of incandescent Flatbacks still in service.

Yeah this intersection is interesting because some of the ped signals are flasher beacons but they changed out the lens to a ped signals. The 8-8-8 seems to be missing a peice of the amber Razz
