Lumec Heilos
These replaced remote ballasted mercury Powerlite gumballs in 2006. The mercury gumballs were orignal to the Yonge Line opening in 1954. I believe in 1954 they were incandescent so they probably added in the remote ballasts during a later merc conversion.

These light the main line along with the rest of the subway train yard.

There are some Lumec Helios here too.

Sad Well the Lumec Helios are cool lights too. Not as cool as remote ballast gumballs though..

Yeah, here's a pic of those remote ballasted gumballs. I'm guessing they were 100w MV.

Oh cool! That place doesn't look the same at all! I'm guessing the gumball pic is in the opposite direction of your pic? And those trees on the left weren't there.
joe_347V   [Aug 07, 2014 at 07:02 AM]
Yeah it's taken from the other direction of my pics. I wasn't able to find a pic of the gumballs taken from my direction. I added a pic I took of the yard so that you can visualize the area better lol.

Ah I still see some gumballas on the utility poles in the background and see some non-Lumec lights to the far left in the pic you added. Are the old gumball pole stumps still there? I think I see some pole stumps but they might just be random concrete chunks...

Neat. Helios aren't rare in fort worth but not as common as AE small fixtures. I think they light pretty well at night and I like how the optics stay pretty clean.

They seem like really nie lights but there are no Lumec Helios here. The big brother of these can be seen right here but that's all i know of for Philips cobraheads in RI. It's also a train yard BTW.

I know where this is Cool . I know of lumec helios on highway 50 in Caledon

Ahh, there are some Lumecs here but most have been either spot replacements or used for off street applications like this subway yard. Interesting that your Lumec are also at a train yard lol.

I've seen the stumps of the old gumball poles before but I don't see them in this pic lol. Maybe I should get a pic of the stumps. Razz
