I guess it's not cast aluminum? They must have polished them very well. I love the semi-tapered refractor on these lights. I find the traditional round gumballs a little boring but these are cool. I liek the hi-fi needle refractor with 100W MV heads. For incandescent lamps I like radial wave or admiral's hat optics best.
Yeah, I think they're stamped aluminium sorta like the Form 400s. I guess they might have applied some clear coat to the head too lol. Yeah, the tapered reflector gives it quite a bit of character compared to regular gumballs.
St Jacobs has these same exact gumballs but with 100w merc ballasts fitted. They look really nice at night. I believe Toronto had them too but they got killed off in the early 90s by HPS R47s.
now that's true! the Cooper one's look like they came right from that Era. probably my least favorite repos are the one's that have the glasstop reflectors I guess?
