Twistpaks in Markham
Came across a neighbourhood in Makrham that's still lit with some nice old Powerlite Twistpaks. The Twistpaks were very rare in Markham as the standard lighting was cobraheads. It seems every Twistpak I come across in Markham are painted black too. I guess these are 70w or 100w HPS but there's no NEMA tags on them.

They are still super common here I thought brampton was the only city to use twistpaks for subdivisions

Yeah, I thought so too. I know Scarborough has some subdivisions lit with posttops but they were not Twistpaks.

Those are 70w Razz Almost all of them here are 70w. A few are 100w or 125w though but they are usually on taller cement poles but our replacements for them are 125w OVF's

could the twistpacks been painted after they were installed? i didn't know they came painted before AEL was around. They look odd in black since the reflector/hood is still bare and the concrete pole is well, concrete.

I can't say I've ever seen a black Twistpak before, I know for a fact Oakville still uses them, when I was at my co-op we got to install a few brand new ones!

Hmm I thought black was a optional colour for the Twistpak. Razz I think the pole either galvanized steel or aluminium though.

AEL offers black twist packs but i thought you guys didn't install them after powerlite was bought out?
