OV-25 Flatbottom!
Here's one of the few OV-25 flatbottoms left in the Toronto area. This one is part of a cluster of around 3-4 still left on this street. It has been converted to HPS though which is a bit odd as Toronto rarely retrofits their lumes. Well at least that meant that this light was saved from the scrapper when mercs when away in the early 90s.

Also note that the pole and traffic light below have since been replaced (probably the arm too) and the remote PC socket since I'm not sure if these ever came with PC sockets.

Hmm, never knew that they came with PC sockets, anyways it seems that only this street has old retrofitted merc lumes still left. There's also a few OV 25s and some of those PEMCO fishheads too (see next pic).

Even they made clamshells with integral PC sockets!!!

Where I live, the electrical company I live in, the pre 70s 400 watt MV fixtures did NOT have integral PC sockets, but the electrical company next to us has a bunch of 400 watt cobraheads from 60s and even clamshells with integral PC sockets....so it depends on what electrical company orders that time too.

Interesting! Does anyone know when did twist lock PCs first came out? Anyways over here a lot of 60s fIxtures didn't have PC sockets and used group relays or pole mounted PC sockets instead.

I want to say late 1950s? I know most early clamshells had tube photocells and adapters were later made for them to adapt them to the smaller twistlock units.

Ahh thanks, I guess my gumball is older than I thought since it dosen't have a PC socket. Anyways did they ever make twistlock PCs with tubes or were they all solid state by the time twistlock PCs came out.
