50w vybrant halogen vs 100w GE incandescent
i placed the two side to side for a comparasion. i used a 1970s ge 100w 120v inside frost bulb to directly compare with the vybrant inside frost bulb. they look to be about the same brightness. however the vybrant has a little less light coming from the top of the bulb (facing down) due to the pinched seal of the capsule getting in the way, you can notice that on the wall.

nice! going by the way you listed the information, the 50W lamp is on the left? If I looked soley at the pic to decide which was which i wouldn't be able to tell! do they sell these locally in stores? BTW, interesting wall paint/texture. Cool

Nice, these seem like a really viable alternative to incandescents for people who don't like CFLs or LEDs...
Do they make them in other wattages as well?

currently they only have 50w bulbs on sale but they say a 30w (60w equivalent) bulb and a 70w (150w equivalent) bulb are on the way, plus a line of PARs. they also have some MR16s on sale.

Well these are sure to meet any energy standards! The 100W replacements are competitive with CFLs with efficency. They should start selling these in stores! It's easier for me to buy in stores since i can pay cash and not have to get my parents to buy with their credit card and me reimburse them. too much to go through for small stuff lol.
