i dunno how many hours the carbon filament lamp above has but it works fine, not much blackening either.

yeah maybe it's just because the bulb is dirty on the outside, these outside frost bulbs get dirty easily you know.

Very interesting lamp Toshiba were the first to make lamps in Japan as they were licensed by Edison this may explain the US shape also, very nice lamp in deed. Wonder who made your lamp the etch seems to not be there when you need it.

Here is the old carbon filament short neck A-21 bulb. Notice it kinda has an american shape? Even though it looks like it to me, the base is marked 115v JAPAN. on the kill-a-watt it measures about 68-89w.
