Caster 70 Watt High Pressure Sodium Ballast
a Caster 70 Watt HPS Ballast from a Lithoria Yardblaster (Long Gone)

as you can see i Cut the Ballast Bracket (Booooo!)

the Ballast works Fine, and doesn't even get Warm while running,so i guess its a Pretty Decent Ballast.

if only i had an Ignitor For it.

Is it possible to separate the ballast from the bracket?
Form109   [Apr 06, 2011 at 04:47 AM]
the Bracket in this case is welded to the core,so it would take abit of effort.

Maybe a hacksaw or a dremel might get it off but yeah it's going to be hard to get it off.

Darn, I was hoping to put a MV ballast in mine. Looks like it won't be as easy as I thought.

I have gotten brackets off of ballasts! Not really THAT hard...with proper tools!
gramirez2012   [Apr 06, 2011 at 03:41 PM]
If I got the ballast off of the bracket, how would I secure the new ballast to the bracket? I don't have any welding tools or anything. Any simple fixes?
GullWhiz   [Apr 06, 2011 at 03:43 PM]
what do you mean?
gramirez2012   [Apr 06, 2011 at 03:46 PM]
How could I secure a new ballast to the bracket without welding it on, like the original?

There's some awesome glue I have used.....one of them is called Gorilla Glue....it needs a mixture of water and glue....clamp it together and it will do some foaming actions...it works WONDERS for me!

see here

It's the one that says "Bonds: Metal, Stone, Wood, Ceramics, Foam, Glass & More" just becareful not to get it on your hands it's a bit hard to get off!!!

Good idea, thanks!
