Recent finds, two XL Lifelines!
I grabbed a big box full of fluorescents yesterday. Half of them were working F34s I keep for my stockpile. There were a couple of interesting specimens in the box too! I got a 3rd /CW Lifeline, and my first /D Lifeline! I now only lack the /WW version, and the /WWX version if it ever existed.

These tubes were lit in a troffer I got the same day. The ballast inside is one of those CGE Gold Label ballasts I love! It has a weird 17A240E1 Model n° too!

UPDATE 02/26/12: This troffer is now in service! The CGE ballast has been saved in my collection and installed a Philips one, since I have plenty from Philips LOL. The fixture runs a Philips F34CW/EW and a Sylvania F34CW/SS, both ecologic but in great working condition and still very bright.

I also have a few warm white 34 watters but they look horrible in the basement for some reason XD. I love daylight tubes, and have plenty of 40W ones, but my parents don't have the same thoughts about those X3 That's no big deal though, since I always loved the crisp, slightly greenish tint of cool white!

I like cool white best, but 5000K and 6500K are cool as well. Smile

Personally I like all colour temperatures, but each one has applications that suit best. Aside from incandescent, I don't like anything under 4100K in my basement, and the higher °K the better! However daylight looks pretty bad in the living room Laughing I prefer something like 3000K for some rooms. Indirect fluorescent lighting also looks awesome with 3000K!

My all-time favourite is and has always been daylight! It's crisp and bright, for some reason I feel less lazy under daylight fluorescents LOL.

I like 4100/5000/6500K for brightly lit work areas but for more softer lighting I prefer lower colour temperatures.

IMO, the higher the kelvin temp, the better...
Does Daylight Deluxe florescent pass the new CRI standards? If so I want some for the fixtures in my room...
