More Merc Madness
Found this dismantled recessed mercury light at school. This one uses a wider can than the [url=http://www.galleryoflights.org/mb/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-18744]other ones[/url] so I'm guessing only the stairwell had these. You can see that it also has a /DX A-shaped lamp as well as the ballast and where the light used to be installed. This one got replaced with a [url=http://www.galleryoflights.org/mb/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-17128]347v PL drum light[/url] and a F32T8 strip, both of which are dead. Ironically I bet the merc is dimmed out but still works.

This one got replaced with a 347v PL drum light and a F32T8 strip, both of which are dead. Ironically I bet the merc is dimmed out but still works.

Well, the ceiling is where the opened up access panel is. The ceiling slopes up at a 45 degree angle over the exit.

Update: they either relamped or reballasted the F32T8 strip as it works now. I'm thinking they reballasted it as the lamps in the pic look rather new.
